Welcome to the University Office of Planning (UOP). The office is one of the Units under the Vice Chancellery which is headed by a PVC who reports directly to the Vice Chancellor.
Our primary role is to collect, analyze, and report on institutional data that supports strategic planning, policy development, and evidence-based decision-making across the UWI Mona Campus. Our work empowers departments and leadership teams to operate with insight, transparency, and accountability.
The office has four core portfolio areas: strategic planning, institutional research, project management, and academic and industry partnerships. One of the core functions of the office is the preparation and monitoring/ assessment of The University’s strategic plan. It also conducts institutional research in order to inform operational and strategic planning efforts.
In addition, the office also works closely with other units and the centre in the UWI system, to better streamline their business processes to create greater efficiencies across the university and reduce the cost of its operations. The next few years promises to be an exciting time at the UWI as we roll out the Triple A strategy.
